All I could suggest is to go to the Hintertux Glacier out of the peak season and you will find better priced accommodation and cheaper ski lift passes. You can also get some incredible skiing in autumn and spring on the Hintertux Glacier. Sorry for not being able to offer you better news! I know a guy who on his 80th birthday started snowboarding and he snowboards for free as far as I know around Innsbruck - now that is looking after your senior citizens!
