Off the slopes Mayrhofen has more to offer than very many other ski holiday resorts. Off the slopes but still on the snow there are cross-country skiing trails through the valley, whilst on ice then the re is ice climbing as well as ice skating on offer. In the air there is solo and tandem paragliding on offer. For a more leisurely approach there are horse drawn sleigh rides as well as spa facilities to relax and recuperate in. A forest festival area some 300m form the centre of Mayrhofen in the a local forest hosts a wonderful and atmospheric Christmas market in the weeks up to Christmas whilst there are endless dining and drinking options in the resort itself.
