Mayrhofen is very much a year-round resort and whilst it is winter that sees the most visitors, the summer has a great feel to it with a busy main street and plenty of people in the mountains. It is also a great location for accessing the Hintertux Glacier with the chance to ski throughout the summer. Many hotels offer outdoor swimming in Mayrhofen whilst the Erlebnisbad in Mayrhofen and the Summer World in Hippach offer slides and plenty to do for kids. Biking is a huge past-time in Mayrhofen both in the valley and on the mountain as is walking which can also take place in both locations. For those wanting the quick way to the mountain paths then there are a number of lifts operating throughout the summer months. For something a little more challenging then Via Ferrata is offered in Mayrhofen with steep rock faces traversed with the aid of steel cables and harnesses. Above all this is the chance to paraglide either solo or in tandem over the peaks of the Zillertal Valley with superb views on offer of the region.
