The Fugen – Spieljochbahn ski area is the very first in the Zillertal Valley and features 8 lifts and a majority of red intermediate ski pistes. The area is compact and best suited to beginners and early intermediates. The area is popular with families and the sole blue run is located at the top of the Spieljochbahn and is serviced by a chair lift. Despite being a small / compact area, Fugen has a creditable vertical of 1500m, significantly more than many bigger ski areas. It is not possible to travel by ski piste or lift into the neighbouring Hochfugen ski area but a projected gondola should make this possible in the future.
